"Tan Loke Mun has made his mark in the professional architecture fraternity in Malaysia and is achieving the same in the region. A man who exhibits great passion in architectural design and the profession.
An innovator and educator, his architecture embraces and interprets regionalism in a modern social context. He has developed a recognisable list of portfolio but not limited to any distinctive style. His work showed innovative expressions to enhance the sanctity rules of regionalism, climate and culture. More recently his works has included green technologies in the simplest of form and regional metaphors.
Projects such as 23 Terrace, S11 House, Fabric House, 12H, 8D House, Clay Roof House are amongst the growing portfolios that portray his quest for innovation, green technology and re-adaptation. These are further enhanced by the number of awards and accolades that he has received. S11 House is the first Green Building Index Platinum rated house for domestic Architecture in Malaysia and has won numerous awards locally and regionally. It is a finalist for World Architecture Festival Awards 2012.
ArchiCentre is synonymous with Loke Mun, a firm that has now expanded and making a mark regionally. An exemplary designer, innovator, educator, writer who now finds time to share his knowledge and works with the students in the region.
